About Us

Baba Makhan Shah Lobana Sikh Association of Canada (the Lobana Association) was founded in 1995–1996 with the mission of uniting Lobana Sikhs across Canada and extending our support both within our community and to the broader Canadian society. Our Association draws strength from the rich heritage of the Lobana Sikh community—originating in the Lobana tribes from Punjab, India—and now thriving across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. As Doctors, Engineers, Accountants, and Entrepreneurs, our members leverage their professional expertise to facilitate a range of initiatives:
  • Welcoming newcomers – Providing mentorship and practical support to newly arrived Lobana families.
  • Supporting established members – Fostering personal and collective growth through mentorship, networking, and community gatherings.
  • Advancing social welfare – Engaging in initiatives that address broader societal issues and uplift local communities, from youth education to cultural engagement programs.
In keeping with our community-oriented spirit, the Association embeds the Sikh principle of seva (selfless service) into everything we do—whether through cultural celebrations, mentorship, charitable outreach, or advocacy.
